This, the third National Student Woodworking Competition,was sponsored by Fitchett & Woollacott - now Brooks Bros (Midlands) Ltd. The competition has gathered momentum since its inception, with ever growing levels of participation and Design & Technology teachers praising its positive influence in motivating students to produce their best work.
More than 300 pieces of woodwork were submitted, creating a superb showcase for the woodworking skills of students of different ages.
Students competed in three age bands for a variety of prizes and schools competed to win timber from sustainable forests and state-of-the-art equipment for their Design & Technology workshops.

3rd prize - Lauren Barber for "Dolls House" - Sir John Leman High School (Sony Walkman Video with FM tuner)
